Interest in Fillers

Everyone is so interested in fillers these days.....and for good reason - they work. "Fillers" is the broad category we use describe treatments that add "products" beneath the skin. They can be used to add or restore volume due to aging or simply to fill in lines and wrinkles Restylane and Juvederm sre the most popular and are made of something called Hyaluronic acid. This naturally occuring building block works by holding on to water within the skin and "plumping". Other fillers such as Radiesse and Sculptra work differently but are equally or more effective in certain areas. Finally, fat grafting, now called "stem cell" transfers are also superb but have a little more down time. Depending upon the nature of the problem and issues that the patient may have I will choose from the several different fillers that are available. It's nice to have a choice.
